This was a wedding gift from a bridal registry. So, I was a little reluctant since I wouldn't get a chance to inspect the goods before they were delivered. However, I'm told that the delivery went off without a hitch and everything arrived in great condition. I'm not a china expert, but our china is also from Lenox. It's held up for over 20 years. So, I trust the name.
