Absolutely the best!
I fought for years with a dinky handheld model that smelled like it was going to catch on fire every time I used it.

Well, after getting my Kitchenaid, I feel like I've gone to mixer heaven.

Nothing slows it down, not even bread dough. And the color -- Komen Pink -- is so delightful that I have repainted my kitchen to go with my mixer (yeah, I know...but I've done sillier things and my kitchen is so charming now that I don't even mind cooking).

If you're thinking about buying this mixer, GO FOR IT!
I LOVE this mixer. All I had to do to set it up was plug it in. It's simple to change between mixing tools (just twist and pull to remove, twist and push to attach), and the results are fabulous. The instruction manual looks large, but that's just because it's in 3 languages and contains great recipes so you can get started right away. I've never written a review for something I purchased online before, but this product is certainly worth it. I have wanted this mixer for years and I finally got it because of the wonderful price and fast, not to mention FREE, shipping that Amazon.com offers.

KitchenAid 5-Quart MIxer.
My mother started it all years ago by buying herself a white KitchenAid 5-Quart Stand Mixer. She loved it. She made many, many birthday cakes, holiday cakes and many loaves of bread, (white and flavord loaves) with her mixer. She was a wiz with it!!! She was married to a minister and together they raised the children, all 12 of us! The mixer was such a big part of our kitchen.
I have my own kitchen now and have a Blue Willow 5 quart KitchenAid mixer. I loved mine so much that I purchased one for 3 of my sisters. They choose their colors of red and buttercup yellow and the last one of white. They LOVE them. I have also purchased a red one for a neice that does a lot of baking and kept borrowing mine. Also another neice lives in California and is just beginning a family and is baking up a storm. She has the Pink one. They are so special to each person that has one!!!
I have several more sisters and neices to go to have each of the bakers in my family with their own KitchenAid...

KitchenAid Mixer Best in the World
Recently reviewed the purchase of this mixer in white that I bought for my daughter. I purchased this one for my wife, it is our second one. The first I bought for her 29 years ago. I bought it in white back then. The first one has been used regularly because my wife is a very good cook. We kept waiting for the old one to die, well with KitchenAid, that never happens. So after 32 years of marriage I bought her the Brushed Nickel KSM152PSNK. If you do not have a KitchenAid mixer and you like to cook, you need one. Spend the money and buy one. I know we will get at least 32 years of service from our new one.

What can I say about this mixer that hasn't already been said. It is awesome. Strong, sturdy and it does the job effortlessly. The Brushed Nickel custom metallic is just gorgeous and goes beautifully in my kitchen. Yes, it is expensive ... Merry Christmas to me. I caught it on sale with free shipping on Amazon. I haven't baked in years and since I got this I have rekindled the baker in me. My NY Cheesecakes, Sour Cream Pound Cakes and Sweet Potatoe pies were a BIG hit!!

TIP: Start off at low speeds, pour in your dry ingredients slowly and you'll be very happy with your recipes too.

Sleek, stylish and modern
I've had KitchenAid mixers for years. They've always been fun and funky but ALWAYS dependable to a fault! With the advent of stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops, I longed for a stainless steel mixer but the only KitchenAid like that was one from Williams-Sonoma, one of their "lift bowl" variety, for a whopping $899! So I was excited when I found this Artisan, tilt-head mixer for almost half that cost! It's gorgeous and looks like a million bucks. They make a copper one as well which is equally stunning. KitchenAid has a great mix of style and function with this new Metallic Series mixer.

KitchenAid KMCC1KB Stand Mixer Cloth Cover, Khaki with Black Trim

Hemmed and hawed, but really glad I went ahead and bought it!
I've had my Artisan 5 Quart Kitchenaid Stand Mixer for a few years now, and always thought that this cover was a bit of a luxury, and that I could easily find fifty other things to spend twenty-five bucks on. Even for all of that, it occurred to me recently that, with cats in my house, a cover for my stand mixer would save me some pre-mixing clean-up time. Now that I've gotten my cover, I'm thrilled that I decided to buy it!

This cover is plenty big for my mixer. I leave all of the attachments in the bowl, as I'm sure your average Kitchenaid stand mixer owner does, and this cover fits over everything with plenty of room to spare. The bottom edge of the cover hits the countertop and covers every inch of my mixer, with no problem doing so. I even put the cover in the washer and dryer after receiving it, to see how much it might shrink. Mine didn't shrink at all, and the laundering got it fragrant and wrinkle-free.

I have the professional 6 qt mixer, and this cover does not fit it. I looked at the description again and it states that it will cover both a tilt head or a raised bowl but this is more than 2 inches short.

Finally!! A Cover for KitchenAid 6 Qt. Stand Mixers!!
I have had this cover (in white) for several months now and use it to cover my KitchenAid 6 Qt. Epicurean stand mixer (note that this will also fit the 6 Qt. Professional model). With the pouring shield and bowl in place, the cover just fits around the entire base of the mixer with perhaps 1/8" of room from the bottom. There is a large pocket (12" wide x 8.5" tall) along one side which allows for storage of manuals, cookbooks, and accessories. The cover is well made from heavy, quilted cotton twill backed with cotton covered polyester batting and is machine washable (cold recommended -- this thing cannot afford any shrinkage!!). There is contrasting black piping along the bottom and arched around the front and back sides. The cover accomplishes its intended task -- keeping dust and dirt off my prized mixer, and is a purchase that I would recommend for anyone who owns a KitchenAid stand mixer.

Very Cool!! And more
All those cooking shows made me buy this. I have always admired these kitchen-aid mixers... but never thought I'd get THAT much use out of them. I watched a cooking show... where they made chocolate mousse. That was the last straw.
Now I can't say how glad I am that I got this! My cookie dough is done as fast as I can measure out the ingredients! I was too lazy to mix the dough well before... so I rarely made cookies. The first week this was home I made 3 batches of delicious cookies, an angel food cake, a meat loaf, mountians of whipped cream, and the chocolate mousse. Clean up is easy too. Plus this cool chrome-esque color looks awesome in my kitchen. Only now I'll have to join a gym.

Great Tool, but with minor setback...
I love KitchenAid mixer. I had the classic 4.5 quarts before and had a lot of fun with it. Great for kneading, making scones, etc. So, when I saw the 5 quart model on sale, I jumped at the chance to purchase it. Same as before, but only bigger, right? Well, it worked great until I realized that the dough was being left at the bottom of the bowl. So, I figured it's because of the height so I lowered it a bit. Now, keep in mind that nowhere in the booklet of instruction does it tell you how much the tolerance should be. I went to their live help to get that number which is 1/16". (Another advice: Use paddle attachement for the height measurement. Dough Hook will give you falst reading) So, here I go with lower height setting. I noticed that the top part would twitch everytime it kneaded the dough. After making the dough, I found a ground up spot on the dough hook and scratch marks on the bowl. I had to replace the dough hook but fortunately, the scratch on the bowl was...

Disappointed
I purchased this mixer after wanting one for too many years to count. Unfortunately, I ended up pretty disappointed and returned it and purchased the 5.5 qt Cuisinart instead. First the mixer arrived with some minor cosmetic damage to it. Not a functional problem but still for the price it should not arrive damaged. Second it could barely mix a small batch of fondant for a cake, the motor was just not powerful enough. I do not know how it could have possible mixed a few loaves of bread. When I was done mixing the fondant I noticed the applied covering to the dough hook had started to peel off. Another small issue I had was the design of the bowl made it hard to scrape the bowl without hitting the beater and getting batter all over your hand. Not really a big deal but an annoyance. I really wanted to love this mixer but there were too many issues and I ended up returning it. I was pretty disappointed because I had heard KitchenAid is the best mixer on the market.
